The Westport Woman’s Club has announced that applications are now being accepted for its $5,000 Ruegg Grant. Non-profit organizations are invited to submit their grant proposals for projects that will provide a lasting benefit to our community. The grant will be awarded in June 2013.
This annual grant, established in 1995 by an endowment left to the club by former member Lea Ruegg, is given to eligible organizations involved in the arts, education, and public health and safety-related programs.
Past beneficiaries include Hall-Brook Behavioral Health Services, Nursing & Home Care, Westport Center for Senior Activities, Interfaith Housing Association, Mercy Learning Center, Toquet Hall, Theater Artist Workshop, Westport Rotary Club, Staples High School, Westport Library, Connecticut Theater Foundation/ King’s Highway School, Westport Police Department “Project Lifesaver,” and CLASP Homes.
Proposals must be submitted by March 1, 2013, to the Ruegg Grant Committee, Westport Woman’s Club, 44 Imperial Avenue, Westport, CT 06880.
