Local Businesses and Not For Profit Celebrate holiday season Together to Raise Funds and Food for The Westport Woman’s Club Food Closet
Two local Westport Businesses, LCRwestport and Catamount Wealth Management, come together Thursday November 14from 5pm to 8pm to celebrate the Westport Woman’s Club and usher in the holiday season. This one night event, Demos & Divas! will raise both funds and friends for the Woman’s Club as well as collect food for the Club’s Food Closet. Therefore we are encouraging our guests to donate a non-perishable food item.
This evening will include hors d’oeuvres and cocktails with holiday entertaining tips such as, table setting, centerpiece ideas, napkin folding and more! Nancy Joseph, owner of LCRwestport, will provide a 10% discount off all purchases that night plus give an additional 10% of all evening proceeds to the Westport Woman’s Club Food Closet. All attendees will receive a gift bag and a chance to win a $200 gift certificate to LCRwestport as well as other door prizes.
The Westport Woman’s Club has been working in tandem with Westport Human Services, to provide bags of food as well as gift cards to those in need on a weekly basis and to help out at the holidays and also hot meals on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day to shut-ins in Westport. “Despite an improving economy, many Westport families and elderly are still having difficulty paying for groceries. As many of us have noticed, food costs continue to rise.We are pleased to be able to provide food to the needy in Westport with the help of some very dedicated members as well as the generosity of the community itself.” said Mary Lee Clayton, President of the Westport Woman’s Club.
Demos and Divas! will take place on November 14th as an open house from 5pm to 8pm at LCRwestport located at 615 Post Road East, Westport CT 06880.
