Feed the Need - April 2022

The Westport Woman’s Club thanks the Westport Police Department for their FEED THE NEED Food Drive this spring.  Generous donations from Saturday shoppers at Westport’s “Stop & Shop” re-stocked WWC Food Closet shelves, benefitting those in need within our community.  Gratitude to all who donated and assisted in this town community service effort.

The WWC would like to thank Jim Himes, Jim Himes for Congress for his extremely generous donations to our Food Closet. These donations help us provide support to individuals and families in Westport that need us now more than ever. You can deliver non perishables to the club M/W/F between 9AM and 12PM, or visit the link below to make a monetary donation. Thank you all and stay safe!

The WWC Food Closet works in conjunction with Human Services at Westport Town Hall. When individuals/families who are in need contact Human Services, we fulfill their requests for food by providing them with bags of groceries and with Stop and Shop gift cards (for them to purchase meats, fresh fruits and vegetables, and dairy products). When the bags are packed, the Food Closet workers deliver them to Town Hall. The recipients remain anonymous to us and are able to pick up their groceries and food cards at Town Hall. (more…)
