The signature fundraiser of the WWC has become a “Westport Institution,” which is attended by grandparents, parents, and children of our town and from surrounding areas. This fun event runs for four days (Thursday night, Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday) during Father's Day weekend every June. In addition to carnival rides and an International Food Court, the YDF features a Bake Sale, raffle prizes, and carnival games.
Many of the Westport Woman's Club members volunteer to work at the fair in order to staff the various areas. The camaraderie among the women is strong and enables the club to present a successful and profitable fair every year. The women work tirelessly in preparation for and during the event. It is a wonderful opportunity to be part of the community.
The Yankee Doodle Fair is a major source of funding for our philanthropic programs. Proceeds from this annual event provide most of the monies for the WWC grants to local community service organizations and the need-based scholarships for Staples High School seniors.
