Warm thanks to the "kids of all ages" in the greater Westport community who came out and supported Yankee Doodle Fair 2015, the non-profit Westport Woman's Club's signature fundraiser and Westport's favorite--and last remaining--carnival-style fair! Special thanks to those who came anyway on Sat. June 20, rode the rides and bought Raffle tickets (our "rain insurance") during the surprise day-long drizzle.
Thanks to YOU, our 108-year-old social philanthropic organization is on track to match this past year's funding of grants and need-based scholarships for Staples grads continuing to college (over and above Staples Tuition Grants!).
Our 2015 Sponsor Support was crucial to our success: Resnick Advisors took the lead, followed by Attorney Robert E. Grant and Rose Jordan; then, Dorothy E. Curran-Weichert Realtors; Westport National Bank; Knight, Rolleri, Sheppard CPAs, Shoff Darby Companies, Inc, Harding Funeral Home and Cheryl Eldh. In-kind support came from A.J. Penna Construction, Triple S Carpet & Upholstery, Tarala Electric, Westport Country Playhouse and Izzo & Son Country Gardens. Gillespie Center workers made set-up and clean-up a breeze.
Finally, our blue-aproned volunteers--our own members and their families--were phenomenal! Across the 4 days of the Fair (June 18-21), they put their personal lives on hold for the benefit of the Westport community we all love. THANK YOU! And see you again next year!
