The Westport Woman’s Club presented their 2013 Community Service Grants to a wide variety of local nonprofit organizations at their Annual Awards Breakfast on Thursday, May 23rd. Jo Fuchs Luscombe, Community Services, introduced each of the grantees and read a short description of the program for which the organization was receiving funding.
Under the leadership of Pat Jensen, WWC Community Services Director, grant proposals were reviewed and evaluated by the WWC Community Services Committee at their monthly meetings between October and April. At the Committee’s recommendation, the WWC awarded checks to 27 local nonprofit organizations.
Funding for these grants is obtained through fundraisers such as the Yankee Doodle Fair, various Special Events, and proceeds from the Curio Cottage Thrift Shop.
