On Tuesday, May 9, the Westport Woman's Club Garden Club Members visited the NY Botanical Gardens and took a self-guide tour of the Chihuly Exhibit.

May Club Day consisted of a traditional May Tea. Members donned their favorite festive hats to welcome Spring at the WWC. Attendees enjoyed an assortment of delicious Tea Sandwiches: watercress cucumber, deviled egg, curried chicken, French ham and butter, tuna and vegetables on assorted breads, and mini desserts. Beautiful flowers adorned the Buffet Table. In addition, Art from the WWC Art Show, was on display. (more…)
The Westport Woman’s Club’s held it's Art Show fundraiser, curated by Miggs Burroughs at Bedford Hall on April 29 -30. Art Show chair Jo Luscombe noted that this year’s show builds on last year’s success and continues the long WWC tradition of partnering with 14 local artists to generate sales for them and funds for local scholarships. The Gourmet Group met Tuesday, March 21 and had a demonstration on various types of fried rice. The guest chefs were Ralph Hunt, John Zline and Sarah Crews (our granddaughter). In the clip, Jerry and Barbara Gladnick are watching and commenting on the cooking. The menu was Fried Rice with Shrimp, Thai Fried Rice and Rosemary, Olive Oil and Orange Cake. Sophie Helenek was the speaker at the WWC March Club Day Luncheon. Sophie intertwined her mountaineering experience of climbing and reaching the top of Mt. Everest, with her financial-analyst skills in a fascinating presentation at the Westport Women's Club. Her enthralling story captivated the audience. (more…)

We have been advised by our Rentals Chairperson, Mira Auxier, that a Turkish Rug Bazaar will be held at the Westport Woman's Club on Saturday and Sunday, January 28th and 29th. The Westport Woman's Club will receive a donation of 5% of all carpet sale proceeds. This exclusive shopping experience will feature hundreds of one-of-a-kind Turkish Rugs offered at factory direct prices. Therefore, we would like to encourage our members to share this information with their families, friends, neighbors and to support this event. This year’s family Fair opens Thursday, June 12 (6pm – 10pm) and continues Friday, June 13 (6pm – 10pm), Saturday, June 14 (1pm – 10pm) and Sunday, June 15 (1pm – 5pm).
The signature fundraiser of the WWC has become a “Westport Institution,” which is attended by grandparents, parents, and children of our town and from surrounding areas. This fun event runs for four days (Thursday night, Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday) during Father's Day weekend every June. In addition to carnival rides and an International Food Court, the YDF features a Bake Sale, raffle prizes, and carnival games. (more…)
The WWC Food Closet works in conjunction with Human Services at Westport Town Hall. When individuals/families who are in need contact Human Services, we fulfill their requests for food by providing them with bags of groceries and with Stop and Shop gift cards (for them to purchase meats, fresh fruits and vegetables, and dairy products). When the bags are packed, the Food Closet workers deliver them to Town Hall. The recipients remain anonymous to us and are able to pick up their groceries and food cards at Town Hall. (more…)
The Westport Woman's Club held their December Luncheon on Monday, December 5th. Their guest speaker was distinguished Art Historian, Fiona Garland, who spoke about Titian's "Venus of Urbino."
The club was beautifully decorated for the holiday season, and the Garden Department held it's annual Holiday Boutique in the living room. (more…)
Founded in 2014, Friday Social usually happens on the third Friday of the month, from 4 - 5:30 p.m. in the kitchen (unless we need to yield to a Rental). Every member with a sense of humor is welcome to stop in for any or all of that time. Gatherings are picnic-style, with attendees bringing something to sip, nibbles to share and their own set-ups. WWC Nutcracker Tea Party, held November 26, 2016, benefited the Project Love Holiday Meal Campaign.
Sweet treats, tea sandwiches, hot cocoa and tea were served in the Westport Woman’s Club's historic ballroom which included snowflakes, live readings, costumed performers and high tea in a Victorian setting in the heart of Westport. (more…)

The WWC Garden Department traveled to Old Lyme, CT to the Griswold House. A Faerie Village was set up which included 31 little villages from all over the world.

The Westport Woman’s Club hosted their New and Prospective Members Wine and Cheese on September 28 at 5 p.m. at their historic clubhouse at 44 Imperial Avenue, Westport. Attendees learned about the many philanthropic and social activities the Club is involved in.
The Westport Woman’s Club (WWC) is a non- profit organization dedicated to volunteerism and the raising of funds in support of charitable, educational, cultural and public health services in Westport and surrounding towns. Founded in 1907, the WWC achieves its goals through various fundraisers, including the Yankee Doodle Fair and the Curio Cottage Thrift Shop. Other fundraising activities are spearheaded by the active Ways and Means Committee.

He addressed financial matters, town facility upgrades and improvements; progress on current projects, and implementation of various ongoing projects of interest (i.e., Downtown Master Plan, Compo Beach Site Improvement). For all of our volunteers who don't need any refresher info, please come and enjoy the snacks and see your friends. For our new volunteers, this is a great time to learn exactly how and why we do what we do. For members who are just thinking about volunteering, this is a perfect time to help you make up your mind. The Westport Woman’s Club Curio Cottage will continue its Half-Price Summer Clearance Sale - August 22 - 27.
The Curio Cottage Thrift Shop, at the Westport Woman’s Club, 44 Imperial Avenue, will hold a Half-Price Sale starting Monday, August 22 from 1:00 M to 4:00 PM, Tuesday, August 23 through Friday, August 26 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM and the final day, Saturday, August 27 from 11:00 am to 3:00 PM. Rain or Shine. All proceeds go to Fairfield County charities.
Savvy shoppers will get there early, so don’t wait! The shop offers a wide variety of quality items from glassware, cooking equipment, pictures, frames…just about anything. And the inventory is constantly changing.
Our association with the Blues, Views, and BBQ Festival began back in 2008 during its first year and has continued for all 8 years. Since that time, the WWC has received over $14,000 from the Westport Downtown Merchants Association, the sponsor of this town-wide event. Community Food Drive
From July 1st - July 29th, Westport National Bank® will be participating in a community food drive to help benefit Homes with Hope, Operation Hope and the Westport Woman's Club Food Closet. Help us restock our local food banks with non-perishable items!
Drop off your items at either one of our Westport National Bank® branches located at 1495 Post Road East or 1100 Kings Highway East during branch hours.
Shirley Mellor, WWC Member and former owner of iconic Max's Art Supplies, donated the cost of framing for 3 Bedford Family portraits now hanging at the WWC.
