What happens to a native of blue-collar Brockton, MA who graduates college (Wellesley), marries, moves to Japan, writes a thoughtful, well-received book about Japanese women, then returns home with her brood to take up residency in Greenwich, CT?

On Mon. Oct. 5, when the Westport Woman’s Club welcomes comedian Jane Condon as the featured monthly luncheon entertainment, the audience will learn the hilarious answers.
Jane Condon “…had the audience cackling, guffawing and in hysterics as she sliced through marriage, husbands, kids, politics and other topics,” says the New York Times.
"Jane Condon is that rarity among her fellows, a comic whose material never needs laundering;" notes the Wall Street Journal. (more…)

This is the 8th year that the BBQ Festival, a community-wide event, is being held, and the Woman's Club Food Closet has received generous grants over the years, totaling more than $12,000 (!) from the Downtown Merchants Association, the organizer of the event.

By volunteering at the Festival, we are expressing our appreciation and gratitude for the monies we have received, as well as showing support for a community event. If you are interested in helping out, there is a sign-up sheet at the Club or contact Audrey Rabinowitz to be assigned a shift.

In the Westport Woman's Club’s first-ever “live” Talk Show, "16 Minutes," award-winning fine art and editorial photographer Stacy Bass was interviewed by WWC president, Dorothy Curran during the Sept. 8th Club Day luncheon. Focusing on Stacy’s latest book, Gardens at First Light, this ground-breaking interview covered her Westport roots, family tree and the real dirt on garden photography.
Audience Q & A followed  the interview. Books were available for purchase and signing by the photographer. (more…)
